Hackett was founded in 1979 by Jeremy Hackett and Ashley Lloyd-Jennings from a stall on London’s Portobello Road. The first shop, on the “wrong end” of King’s Road, in London Chelsea district, was selling only used clothes. The company gradually expanded over several years. Prada was founded in 1913 by Mario Prada, Miuccia Prada’s grandfather, in Milan. Located in the prestigious Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, Prada was an exclusive, stylish store selling luggage, accessories and luxury goods, in fine materials and of sophisticated workmanship. While working for Cardin, Starck set up his first industrial design company, Starck Product – which he later renamed Ubik after Philip K. Dick’s novel – and began working with manufacturers in Italy – Driade, Alessi, Kartell – and internationally, including Austria’s Drimmer, Vitra in Switzerland and Spain’s Disform. These companies were previously owned by Torreal Funds (31 percent), Artá Capital (16.4 percent), L Capital Europe (11.5 percent), and its managers. Mykita logoMykita was founded by Moritz Krueger, Philipp Haffmans, Daniel Haffmans and Harald Gottschling in 2003. All of its products are hand-assembled in their manufactory in Berlin.
